ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED, TWO OTHERS SOUGHT IN WASHINGTON CO. BUSINESS BURGLARY

  

One person was arrested and a search is on for two others after multiple items were stolen from a Washington County business.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after 2:30 a.m. today (Friday) to a burglary in progress in the 5400 block of Highway 290 East.  It was reported that three subjects had broken into a business and were placing items into an SUV. 

Sergeant Himebaugh observed a vehicle matching the description in Chappell Hill and initiated a traffic stop.  The sheriff’s office says three male subjects exited the vehicle and fled on foot, but the driver was apprehended.

Recovered from the vehicle were ten chainsaws, two leaf blowers and a concrete saw.

22-year-old Christian Villa-Duran of Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Theft of Property $2,500 - $30,000, Burglary of a Building, Evading Arrest/Detention, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and No Driver’s License.  Two other suspects remain at large, and the case is still under investigation.

The sheriff’s office reported two other arrests between Thursday and early this morning.

At 5 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a criminal mischief call in the 5800 block of Green Oak Lane.  The victim claimed that a man had struck his vehicle with a baseball bat, causing approximately $2,000 in damages.  After further investigation, 21-year-old Tyler Wayne Mills Sloan of Brenham was taken into custody and booked in at the Washington County Jail for Criminal Mischief $750 - $2,500.

Around 12:30 a.m. today, Corporal Zavala initiated a traffic stop for speeding at Highway 290 West and Marshall Lane.  Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana and performed a search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.  The passenger, 20-year-old Ethan Christopher Walker of Austin, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Less Than a Gram, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
