BRENHAM CHEERLEADER AND MASCOT ALUMNI REUNION HELD AT HOMECOMING GAME
Story submitted by Catherine Kenjura
The Friday night lights at Cub Stadium shined a little brighter this Homecoming as more than 50 Brenham High School Cheer and Mascot Alumni returned to the field to perform together for the first time in school history.
Representing eight decades of Brenham spirit, alumni from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s came together to cheer on the Cubs once again.
Dressed in matching alumni shirts and Cub pride, the group led the crowd in classic school traditions as they performed “Two-Bits,” the Brenham High School Fight Song, and the Alma Mater.
Participants traveled from near and far to join the event, many cheering under the Friday night lights for the first time in decades.
The crowd erupted with applause as the alumni took the field, bringing back memories and tradition in a powerful display of school pride.
The alumni group also participated in the Brenham Homecoming Parade earlier in the week and hopes to make this reunion performance a tradition.
