Locations across the Brazos Valley will accept non-perishable food and monetary donations on Wednesday, December 3rd from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Washington County’s drop-off site is the Washington County Expo in Brenham.

All contributions stay local to the county they are donated in.  In Washington County, donations will support Bread Partners of Washington County, Faith Mission & Help Center, Prairie Hill Food Pantry, Burton Bridge Ministry and Washington Mobile Pantry.

Recommended items include beans, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats, cereal, pasta, rice, peanut butter, ready-to-eat snacks, soups, stews and tomato products.  Homemade or perishable items cannot be accepted.

Other collection sites around the region are the Brazos Center in Bryan, Grimes County Fairgrounds in Navasota, St. Mary’s Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Hall in Caldwell, Son-Shine Outreach Center in Madisonville, Pridgeon Community Center in Franklin and First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Hearne.

Volunteers are needed for the collection event in Brenham to greet visitors, unload vehicles, track and sort food donations, and provide entertainment and holiday spirit.  A link to sign up to volunteer can be found here.
