AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD TO RECEIVE RUNWAY REPAIR, MASTER PLAN UPDATES

Brenham’s Airport Advisory Board will receive updates on the Municipal Airport’s runway repair project at Monday’s meeting.

The repair of the runway bump, which has undergone multiple repairs, has been a priority of the Airport Advisory Board for months.  Estimated cost of repairs for the bump is $421,000.

The Board will also hear word on the Master Plan Project.  A Master Plan was last completed for the airport in 2005, and TxDOT requires all airports to have current Master Plans before any grants are approved.

The Board will also potentially act upon changes to the T-Hangar Lease Agreement, which would allow for the noncommercial assembly of hobby airplanes.  In addition, the board will hear a request to host ADS-B sensors at the airport, which track aircraft positions in real-time.

The Board will meet Monday at 6 p.m., at the Brenham Municipal Airport, on 3001 Aviation Way.

  1. Is this municipal airport self sustaining? These are very expensive repairs and city taxpayers ( especially the 30% of renters at the poverty level) should not be providing and airport for wealthy plane owners. If we get an answer to this question published, it will snow next week.
