Around 11 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a 2014 Dodge septic cleaning truck on I-10 eastbound near Flatonia for traffic violations.  Investigators reported that the driver did not have a driver license, and the passenger reportedly gave inconsistent travel plans to authorities, who said the two also showed nervous behavior.

After receiving consent to search the vehicle, deputies opened the lid on the truck’s cleaning tank and found multiple bundles which were wrapped in plastic cellophane, axle grease, and tape consistent with illegal narcotics.  The bundles contained 350 pounds of marijuana.

Deputies, who were assisted by Flatonia police, arrested 45-year-old Stephanie Navejar and 53-year-old Jorge Sanchez, both of Cotulla, located north of Laredo.

The two were taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana.

  1. Seems they never run out of ways to transport those drugs. Thank goodness Fayette county has that great drug dog, Colt. He can sniff them out. Thanks to him and his handler Randy Thumann for doing great work!
