BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE ANNOUNCES IMMUNIZATION PLANS

Baylor Scott & White has announced they will begin immunizing patients who meet Phase 1B criteria, as informed by federal and state guidance.

That includes those 65 and older and 16 years of age and older with certain high-risk medical conditions.

Hospital officials say they will be reaching out to eligible patients to schedule an appointment, as supply allows.  Providers may contact patients through MyBSWHealth, via email or by phone.

Hospital officials say, while they are eager to vaccinate patients, the supply on hand is limited.  As additional doses become available to us, we will continue to administer them as quickly as possible.

BSW officials listed some steps patients can take:

  1. Update your MyBSWHealth account with your current contact and insurance information.
  2. If you do not have a MyBSWHealth account, download the appor visit MyBSWHealth.com.
  3. Questions about vaccine safety and effectiveness? Get the answers at scrubbing.in.

Baylor Scott & White issued a statement, late Friday afternoon:

Baylor Scott & White contacted a limited number of patients in the College Station region who fall into phase 1B and are at higher risk of illness from COVID-19. Supply is extremely limited, and we are unable to accommodate patient requests for vaccine at this time.

If Brenham patients have the opportunity to get the COVID-19 vaccine before contacted by Baylor Scott & White, we encourage them to do so – and to keep a record of the immunization.

Baylor Scott & White has offered assistance to state-designated vaccination hubs in the System’s service areas, including the one at the Washington County Expo Center (Fairgrounds). We have been engaged with the vaccine distribution planning, are supplying healthcare personnel to help administer the vaccine.

Patients are strongly urged to continue to practice safety precautions: Wear a mask, physically distance and wash your hands often.
