BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL BEGINS

Chappell Hill is celebrating 50 years of Bluebonnets, the state’s official flower this weekend.

The Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival is the official Bluebonnet festival for Texas and it’s a good time to celebrate the rich history our area has to offer.

Joel Romo says the Chappell Hill Historical Society uses the festival to raise funds and awareness of the local history, and has done a wonderful job.

The festival opens at 9am Saturday and Sunday, with arts and crafts, children’s activities, musical entertainment and all the food booths.

The Bluebonnet Festival is open, free of charge in downtown Chappell Hill. Romo says they will have plenty of parking.
