BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESCUES SEVEN PEOPLE TRAPPED IN ELEVATOR

The Brenham Fire Department was called out to the Blue Bell Tour Building on Friday to free seven people who were stuck in an elevator due to a power outage.

Friday, around noon, the department was dispatched to the tour building—on 1101 South Blue Bell Road—to release the seven people, who were stranded between the first and second floor.  According to Blue Bell Maintenance, there was a power outage that caused the elevator to stop operating.

BFD and Blue Bell Maintenance used a manual override to lower the elevator.  All seven people were safely removed from the elevator, and were evaluated by Washington County EMS.  They had been stuck on the elevator around 20 minutes.

  1. Thank you all Brenham fine department for saving these people in the elevator especially during summer time and it could be very dangerous for heat exhaust. If I were there I would buy everyone free ice cream

  2. Glad everyone was okay. So glad it wasn’t us because they would have to have been peeling me off the walls.
