CONCERTS THIS WEEKEND AT FESTIVAL HILL, ROUND TOP

  

Patriotic music highlights this weekend’s concert at the Round Top Music Festival.

Set for Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall, the Texas Festival Orchestra will honor Independence Day with a variety of patriotic works.

The orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Kulenovic, will perform works such as The Star Spangled Banner, the Candide Overture, American Salute, Ashokan Farewell, and the Armed Forces Salute.

After the concert, Blue Bell will serve ice cream on the west side of the concert hall.  Tickets for the concert are $45 for adults and $10 for students, and can be purchased online or by phone.

A Chamber Music Concert is scheduled for this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall.  The Texas Festival Orchestra will perform tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The orchestra, conducted by Kulenovic, will perform work from Jean Sibelius and Anton Bruckner.  Violinist Stefan Milenkovich will join the orchestra in the performance of Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in d, Op. 47 by Sibelius.
