Deputy David Smith and Reserve Deputy Colin Godmintz were on patrol on I-10 near Schulenburg when they stopped a 2008 Dodge car for a traffic violation.  Deputies observed that the couple in the car was overly nervous and that one subject had marijuana residue on their clothing. A consent to search the vehicle and a large bag of marijuana was discovered.

Further search of the vehicle revealed secret compartments used to conceal contraband.  One of these compartments contained a kilogram of cocaine. Africo Feliz, 36, of Brownsville and Lindsay Barker, 23, of Titusville, Florida were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Along with the drugs, the 2008 Dodge car and over $1800 in cash were seized and are pending forfeiture proceedings.
