MICHAEL McCAUL OFFICIALLY FILES FOR RE-ELECTION AS 10TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REP.

U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul has officially filed for re-election in Texas’ 10th Congressional District.

Congressman Michael McCaul (R)

McCaul officially filed this week for re-election, though his campaign began the 2020 race back in June through a grassroots door-to-door program.

Republican McCaul has served since 2005 in Texas’ 10th Congressional District, representing all of Washington, Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Waller Counties.  Areas of Bastrop, Harris, Lee, and Travis Counties also lie within McCaul’s district.

McCaul was re-elected in 2018 with 157,166 votes, or 51.1 percent of the vote.  McCaul defeated Democrat Mike Siegel, who received 144,034 votes, or 46.8 percent, and Libertarian Mike Ryan, who received 6,627 votes, or 2.2 percent.

In McCaul’s re-election announcement, he said he has spent his entire career in Congress working with both parties to “pass meaningful legislation to improve the lives of Americans and ensure our country is strong”.

McCaul said he is working to unite voters from all parts of the district, saying by working together, people can “keep America safe, create jobs, and protect human dignity by rooting out the evil of human trafficking and finding a cure for childhood cancer”.
