RETIRED FBI AGENT ELVIS McBRIDE SPEAKS AT BLACK HISTORY BREAKFAST

  

A retired FBI agent and graduate of Brenham High School spoke at Saturday’s Black History Breakfast.

Elvis McBride addressed a large gathering at the 33rd annual breakfast, held at Blinn College and sponsored by the Brenham Activist Association.

McBride said often times, looking back on his history helped him through difficult times in his life.

 

 

McBride said, to him, black history is more than just the history of a race.

 

 

McBride graduated from Brenham High School in 1980.  After transferring from Blinn College, he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1985, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice.

McBride enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1986, where he served as an intelligence operation specialist.  He would join the FBI as a special agent, after more than four years in the military.

McBride was transferred to the FBI’s Houston Division in 1998, after originally being assigned in Oklahoma City in 1992.  In Houston, he was a supervisory special agent, overlooking the Health Care Fraud Task Force.  He retired in 2015.
