WASHINGTON CO. RUN ENDS IN STATE TITLE GAME

The season came to end Tuesday night for the Washington County Minor Baseball All-Stars, as Bellaire defeated Washington County 14-6 to claim the Texas East State Championship.

Washington County got on the board first, as Landry Mendoza brought home Ethan Aschenbeck on a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning.  Bellaire responded with the first of two major offensive innings, put six runs on the board, to make it 6-1 after the first.

In the second inning, Drake Bentke hit a two run double that brought home Ryder Biggs and Aschenbeck to make it a 6-3 game.

After trading runs over the next few frames, Bellaire put the game away for good with another six run inning in the bottom of the fourth.

Washington County finishes the season District 13 Champions, Section 1 Champions, and State Runners-Up.

In 18 games played, they finished with a 14-4 record, and out-scored their opponents, 207-73.

  1. Congrats to Washington County Little League Minor Baseball All-Stars, District 13 Champions, Section 1 Champions, and State Runners-Up.
    It has been a hard fought, exciting 18 games.
    The players, manager and coaches worked hard and never gave up.
    It is good to see all the support of family, friends and community. These guys were winners before they played the first game!!
    I’m sure you will be seeing this group of players in future Brenham Baseball.
