AUSTIN COUNTY FAIR GOING ON THIS WEEK

The Austin County Fair in Bellville is celebrating 90 years this week with five full days of livestock judging, rodeos, carnival rides and country music.

Judging started this (Wednesday) morning in several of the livestock categories, and will continue through Thursday afternoon at the fairgrounds in Bellville.  Allen Kaminski, Austin County Fair President, says every kid’s goal is to qualify for Youth Livestock Auction Sale on Friday afternoon.

The trail riders arrive at the fairgrounds at 4:00 p.m. today (Wednesday), and the carnival opens.  Also at 4:00 is the Little Miss and Mister Contest, followed by the Jr. Miss and Mister, and the Jr. Fair Queen Contests.  Tonight’s (Wednesday) entertainment features the David Lewis Band at 7:00, followed by Mike and the Moonpies at 9:00.

A season pass to the Austin County Fair is $35 at the gate, and an adult day pass is $15.  The Fair continues through this Sunday at the fairgrounds in Bellville.
