BIMAGE NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ALL-STATE

Brenham Cubs football star Marqez Bimage has been selected Associated Press Honorable Mention 5A All-State.

Bimage, a senior defensive end, helped lead the Cubs to an 8-4 record in 2016.

Bimage recorded 57 tackles this season, 11 tackles for loss, and caused two fumbles – recovering one.  He also led the Cubs with 9 sacks in 12 games.

Bimage, projected as an inside linebacker at the college level, has verbally committed to play at the University of Houston, choosing the Cougars over a long list of offers including: LSU, Texas Tech, Indiana, Cincinnati, New Mexico, Kansas St. and California .  Earlier this week, though, the former coach of the Cougars, Tom Herman, offered Bimage the chance to play at the University of Texas.

Verbal commitments are non-binding until prospects sign their National Letter-of-Intent in February.
