FOUR-YEAR OLD ACCIDENT VICTIM DIES AT HOUSTON HOSPITAL

  

A four-year old girl, who was struck by a car Monday afternoon in Washington County, has died at a Houston Hospital.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Liberty Kathleen Corby died at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, where she was flown to after the accident in the 800 block of North Berlin Rd., shortly after 3:00 Monday afternoon.

According to the DPS report, the child was running across the road to a mailbox when she was struck by a west-bound 2006 Saturn driven by a 26-year old woman from New Ulm.

The young victim was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Brenham where she was then transported by PHI helicopter to Memorial Hermann where she died Tuesday.

The DPS investigation continues.

  1. Do not blame the police for not pulling people over. I’ve been pulled over on that road. If anything this was a very sad accident that we all need to remember when driving down back roads with homes. Go slow and keep your eyes open

    1. This was a terrible accident. For the family, for the driver. No one wins, no one in this situation goes on with their life ever being the same. Tragedy struck and these innocent lives will forever be changed. My thoughts and prayers for the Corby family and for the driver. May God hold you and walk with you all through this.

  2. How sad and devastating !! I pray for the family and friends of this sweet lil angel. RIP little Libbie. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. So sad for a young life to be taken so early. Doesn’t seem fair !!!!
