  1. I think crime generally goes up in the summer when schools are out, people are out and about on the streets and the increase in people out of work doesn’t help. Of course, drug addiction never takes a holiday so that’s always an ongoing factor.

  2. These criminals are losing their pride and their ambition to get a job. They would much rather steal, lie, destroy property and do the wrong thing. For persons like that, it’s easier to do wrong than to do right. I feel our law enforcement have their hands full with these no count type of people.

  3. It’s gonna get worse! Less jobs equal more theft! I don’t know if police can do better or not but it’s very hard to catch all these crooks!

    1. I agree! My car was ransacked this past weekend as well! I’m now putting up video surveillance around my house. I also think citizens on patrol and our PD need to step up their game with the crime watching.

    2. No, It’s really happening and I hope the BPD and WCS Department can get out ahead of it. When the economy gets bad so does crime.

      1. I live on a main street in town. I also do not keep anything in my truck and do not lock it. I have thought that I’d rather they open a door and look through it and see that I have nothing than to break in and find nothing. Yes, it’s also be “ransacked” in the last month or so. Last weekend my kids and I got woke up to someone talking and walking on our front porch at 3:00am. Cameras are for sure going up.
