WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT ARREST TWO ON DRUG CHARGES
Two Washington County men were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one man has an additional charge of Evading Arrest or Detention, according to Sheriff Otto Hanak
On February 12, Sergeants Clay Bosse and Damon Wegner were conducting a burglary investigation on Highway 36 North and upon arrival at a nearby residence, they made contact with two men who exited a truck parked at that residence.
Investigators detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the truck. In addition, a large mason jar containing a substance believed to be marijuana was in plain sight inside the truck.
When Sergeant Wegner informed the suspect he was under arrest, he evaded that arrest and ran into a heavily wooded area. Just prior to him evading arrest, he provided Sergeant Bosse with his driver license identifying him as 18 year old Brenham resident Matthew Colin Decuir.
Investigators spent several hours searching for Decuir with no luck.
Sergeant Bosse seized the suspected marijuana from the truck along with a substance which tested positive for the presence of cocaine. Also seized at the scene was a container that contained several clear plastic baggies of a substance believed to be marijuana.
Nineteen- year old Brenham resident Dillon Mikolajczak was arrested immediately and booked into the Washington County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Friday, February 20, Decuir was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Evading Arrest. Both suspects posted bonds and have been released from custody.
