GOV. ABBOTT DECLARES DISASTER ALONG SOUTHERN BORDER

Governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration along Texas’ southern border in response to what he calls an “ongoing surge of individuals unlawfully crossing the Texas-Mexico border.”

Governor Greg Abbott

Through the declaration, Abbott is authorizing the use of all necessary and available state and local resources to protect landowners in counties included in the declaration.  He has also directed Texas DPS to enforce all federal and state criminal laws, including criminal trespassing, smuggling and human trafficking.

Counties listed in the declaration are Brewster, Brooks, Cameron, Crockett, Culberson, Dimmit, Duval, Edwards, El Paso, Goliad, Gonzales, Hidalgo, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, Kinney, La Salle, Lavaca, Maverick, McMullen, Pecos, Presidio, Real, Reeves, Starr, Sutton, Terrell, Uvalde, Val Verde, Webb, Willacy, Zapata and Zavala.

Abbott also directed the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to take all necessary steps to discontinue state licensure of any child care facility under a contract with the federal government that “shelters or detains unlawful immigrants.”

In addition, Abbott directed the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement to provide appropriate guidance and request any necessary waivers in order to give counties “the flexibility needed to establish adequate alternative detention facilities or otherwise add or expand capacity.”

Abbott said by declaring a state of disaster in these counties, Texas will have more resources and strategies available to “protect landowners and enforce all federal and state laws to combat criminal activities stemming from the border crisis.”

  1. If we didn’t make it so easy for them to work and live here, they would not want to be here. The STATE could easily require legal proof of residency for them to: get a license, rent or but any type of housing, turn on any utilities, open any accounts. Seriously heavy fines for any employers who do not require legal residency, anyone who knowingly assists them in avoiding regulations, and an enforcement agency of large proportion to get the job done. If the state really is serious, these regulations would have been in place long ago, but I think they may find it more useful as re election fodder.

  2. Naturalization Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America
    Oath

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.”

I wonder if our immigrant residents have taken this oath or if it was somehow avoided? It doesn’t seem like a person that took this oath would be waving anything except Old Glory in our country. Yet we are seeing a Mexican flag being waved at US tax payer funded events, not Mexico funded. I inherited this oath and its implications when my German ancestors took it in 1877 and I’m bound by it unless I renounce and leave the country. If I were to start waving the German flag I would not have abjured allegiance to Deutschland.

Some will skirt this by claiming the US is about “multi-culturalism” but that’s really just a subversive Marxist copout. A melting pot is pluralistic but it has a base as a dominate culture exists and it must exist or you start to get a divided states of America. Eventually, just a like a mindless parasite, the host of the United States that breathed life into the parasite in the first place, dies. The parasite dies with it.

Our founding intended an E Pluribus Unum, with an emphasis of one, not multi or many. This is not racist or old or antiquated, it is very much timelessly patriotic and required of each citizen. We only have one national flag to wave and one country to support. Commonality is critical, ask anyone that’s led anything. If commonality is not present naturally, you find a way to develop it. We are conflating our novel approach of joining diverse but irrelevant phenotypes and cultural backgrounds with a dire need to sustain a morally unified citizenship of a constitutionally free people.

I hope you print this KWHI. Censoring, especially comments that reasonably meet the moderation requirements but still allowing others that deliver a contrary message isn’t good I’d imagine.

KWHI, just consider this, take op-eds, and or sponsor an in person forum at the Hohlt Park amphitheater, minds tend to change and tempers cool when the eyes of others are looking back. Remove the comments board, the ability comment but offer something that comes with more investment.

  3. This is another reason why this Governor will be reelected.
    Good job again Abbott!
