REPORT OF RECKLESS DRIVER LEADS TO ARREST

A report of a reckless driver led to the arrest of a Brenham man Saturday night.

Brenham Police report that Saturday at 10:25 PM, officers were dispatched to a complaint of a reckless driver traveling westbound on Highway 290 West at approximately the 600 block. A traffic stop was performed on a vehicle matching the description given, and after further investigation, the driver, identified as Jeffrey Reist, 52 of Brenham, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. Reist was booked in for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more offence and Fleeing from Police Officers.

  1. 3rd or more offense? And why does he get turned loose to do it again, will he have to kill someone before he gets to stay in jail!

    1. At 52 years of age one would surmise that he should KNOW better; not to DUI or flee from the police! How many times is a person allowed to DUI and have the opportunity to destroy the property of others or KILL SOMEONE!
      The judges in our court system SHOULD KNOW BETTER than to release a repeat offender back into the public domain and should be given the legal authority to hand down stiffer penalties to repeat offenders instead of a congratulatory slap on the wrist. The legal system today protects perverts and predators and certainly not law abiding citizens. It’s a sad state of affairs!
