PUBLIC MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR BRENHAM ISD BOND PROPOSAL
Brenham ISD is hosting a series of public meetings for residents to learn more about the district’s proposed $153.9 million bond measure.
The meetings will allow citizens to ask questions about the bond proposal and walk through Brenham ISD facilities to see what the district is seeking to upgrade through the bond.
Currently, there are six meetings scheduled that are open to the general public, the first of which is Tuesday, March 29th at 6 p.m. in the Brenham Junior High School Cafeteria.
Another public meeting will be held with Chappell Hill residents on Thursday, March 31st at 6 p.m. at the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum. That will be followed by a facility open tour on Tuesday, April 5th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Brenham Junior High School and Brenham High School.
Two more public meetings and tours of facilities are planned for Wednesday, April 13th at 5:30 p.m. at the Brenham Junior High School Cafeteria and Tuesday, April 26th at 6 p.m. at the Brenham High School Cafeteria. The last scheduled facility tour will take place Thursday, April 28th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Brenham Junior High School.
Components of the bond include a new junior high school for grades 6-8 and repurposing Brenham Middle School to serve grades Pre-K-5. All other elementary schools would also accommodate Pre-K through 5th grades.
The bond project would also call for several upgrades at the high school, including an expanded Career and Technical Education (CTE) building and CTE renovations, upgrades to the field house locker rooms and cafeteria and a band marching pad. In addition, the proposal would fund districtwide accessibility and security improvements and fiber internet enhancements.

Early voting for the bond runs April 25-29 and May 2-3 at the Washington County Courthouse Annex. Election Day is Saturday, May 7th.
