BRENHAM AND BURTON FOOTBALL GETTING READY FOR WEEK 2

The Brenham Cub Football Team is getting ready to host the Belton Tigers in their home opener this (Friday) evening.

The Cubs are trying to bounce back after a tough 23-13 road loss to Oakridge last week. Brenham jumped out to an early 13-0 lead, but then Oakridge came back with 23 unanswered points.

Belton, who was 6A last year but with realignment is dropping down to 5A this season, is coming off of a 34-27 win over Pflugerville Hendrickson last week.

Brenham Head Coach Danny Youngs said that this game will present another tough challenge for the Cubs.

Kickoff is scheduled for tonight at 7:30pm at Cub Stadium.  It is going to be Seniors Night with the team honoring the 26 Seniors on the team. If you cannot be there in person, Tommy Lange and I will have the call of the action for you beginning with the pregame at 7pm right here on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.

Meanwhile, the Burton Panther Football Team is looking to make it 2-0 on the season as they face off against Hearne tonight (Friday).

Burton is coming off a 21-18 win over Holland last week. Hearne is coming off of a 21-12 win over Anderson-Shiro.

Panther Coach Jason Hodde knows it is going to be a tough game. He discussed the scouting report on Hearne.

Because of the rains in Hearne this week, the field has been deemed unplayable.  The game between Burton and Hearne has now been moved to Caldwell High School.  Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
