ALL WASHINGTON CO. SALES TAX REBATES UP IN SEPTEMBER
Sales and tax distributions were up across Washington County in September.
This month, the county received a rebate of $367,708, up 16.03 percent from when it took in $316,898 last September. The county’s receipts to date this year total $3,200,621, an increase of 22.52 percent from the $2,612,178 it received through this time last year.
Brenham’s September rebate was $789,084, 10.94 percent more than its $711,227 payout in September of last year. So far in 2022, the city has received $6,820,232, a 16.94 percent increase from 2021’s payments of $5,832,031.
Burton received $7,724 this month, a jump of 12.96 percent from its rebate of $6,837 in September a year ago. The city has received $73,990 to this point in the year, 11.73 percent more when compared to $66,219 at this time the year prior.
According to Comptroller Glenn Hegar, the state paid out $1.04 billion in local sales tax allocations in September, up 13.1 percent from last September and up 16.3 percent for the year so far.
