HATTON RESIGNS FROM BELLVILLE, MORGAN NAMED NEW BASEBALL COACH
Shortly after their exit from the playoffs, Todd Hatton resigned from his position as the Head Baseball Coach of the Bellville Brahmas.
This past season, under Hatton, the Brahmas finished with a record of 20-10-1. They made the playoffs as the fourth place seed out of District 25-4A, and went three rounds deep.
Bellville beat Columbia 2-1 in the Bi-District Round, then swept Canyon Lake 2-0 in the Area Round, but then lost to Davenport in the Region Quarterfinals.
In his two seasons at Bellville, Hatton was 46-17-2.
Hatton told the Bellville Times that the decision was not an easy one, and that several factors played into it. Hatton said that his mother lives 4 1/2 to 5 hours away, and with his brother passing away, he wanted to move somewhere closer to her.
The failure of the school bonds also factored in, because Hatton has a son that plays sports and is of junior high age.
According to the Times, Assistant Baseball Coach Ty Morgan has been named as the new Head Baseball Coach. Morgan had been an assistant coach for the Brahmas for the past six years.
Hatton endorsed his successor saying that he will a do good job for the program.
For a reason of leaving that the bond didn’t pass is a poor excuse. Sounds like we was promoting it
