WINKELMANN NAMED FARM BUREAU PIONEER WINNER

Larry Winkelmann (Farm Bureau)

Washington County Farm Bureau President Larry Winkelmann has been elected as the Texas Farm Bureau District 11 Pioneer Winner.

The election was held during the recent Presidents Meeting at the Blinn College Ag Center.

Winkelmann, a Burton resident, was nominated for the award along with Maurice Wawarofsky of the Waller County Farm Bureau and Lloyd Brunner of the Fayette County Farm Bureau.

All three received “Thank You” gifts from outgoing District Director Allen Kaminski.

According to the Farm Bureau, Pioneer winners are those who give everything to their farms, ranches, and communities.

Selection is based on their contributions to agriculture and the organization, both in service and leadership.

Winkelmann will join a group of 13 Texas farmers and ranchers plus one retired professional staff member in being honored at the Texas Farm Bureau annual meeting.

The TFB annual meeting is being held in December in Frisco.
