LICKSKILLET DAYS BEING HELD IN FAYETTEVILLE THIS WEEKEND
The 46th Annual Lickskillet Days are being celebrated this weekend on and around the square in Fayetteville.
The long-standing tradition is sponsored by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, and will feature two days of good old-fashioned family-friendly fun.
The event kicks off with a street dance featuring live music from Southbound 955 on Saturday night at 7pm.
Then, on Sunday morning at 9am, the Country Store will open in the old Fire Station, and feature a variety of baked goods for sale.
The Kids Zone opens at 10am, and has different children’s activities, such as face painting.
They will have the Lickskillet Parade beginning at 10:45am. The Grand Marshalls will be members of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department and the EMS.
That will be followed by a barbecue beef and sausage meal being served beginning at 11am.
The Fayette Czech Singers and Dancers perform at noon.
The highlight of the event is the annual Skillet Licking Contest, which has been scheduled for 1:15pm.
There will be live and silent auctions as well. Beer, wine, cocktails, snow cones, and hamburgers are also going to be available.
All proceeds from the Lickskillet Days Festival go to benefit the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce activities and support community projects.
