DRUNK DRIVER SENTENCED IN FAYETTE COUNTY FATALITY WRECK

Taylor Levick (Fayette Co. Jail)

A Woodsboro man was sentenced to ten years in prison for his role in a fatal traffic crash during a session of the 155th District Court on Wednesday.

24-year-old Taylor Levick pled no contest to a second-degree felony charge of intoxicated manslaughter before Judge Jeff Steinhauser.

Intoxicated Manslaughter carries a 2-20 year prison term.  Levick accepted a plea agreement for ten years, and will begin serving his sentence in April.

The charge stems from a November 19, 2022 traffic collision in which Levick was driving a 2016 Ford F-250 pickup on Highway 159 in Rutersville, while heavily under the influence of alcohol.

According to DPS reports, he crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by 47-year-old Karl Walter Goehring of Walhalla.

Goehring, who was a member of the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department and the owner of Round Top Heating and Air, died at the scene.

At the time of the collision, Levick was out on bond for another DWI arrest that occurred over in Comal County.

  1. I agree, not his first DWI, he didn’t learn. 10 years is not enough for taking a life. Max is 20 I believe and I don’t even think that is enough. His family and friends still grieve the loss of Karl who left two young boys behind that he should have been able to raise!!! Karl didn’t have a chance with that big truck running head on to him.
