FIRST WEEK OF EARLY VOTING CONCLUDES IN BURTON ISD ELECTION

The first week of early voting saw low voter turnout in the Burton ISD School Board election compared to their previous year.

The numbers from Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson show six people cast their ballots early on Friday. This brought the total number to 49 early voters thus far.

In comparison, during last year’s first week of early voting, 45 people cast their ballots on that fifth day, which brought the total to 89 voters .

This year’s numbers are still ahead of the 2021 election, which ended the first early voting week with only two votes cast early on Friday, and a total of 37 early voters for the first week.

Early voting continues Monday and Tuesday at the Washington County Courthouse Annex, with hours of 8am to 5pm each day.

Election Day is Saturday, May 5th.
