BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO GRASS FIRE, CRASH ON MONDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Monday.

Around 12:15 p.m., Brenham firefighters were dispatched along with the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department for a report of a grass fire in the 4300 block of Highway 290 West. 

While enroute, dispatch advised Brenham units that there was a grass fire in front of EMS Station No. 2 in the 1800 block of Highway 290 West.  The Brenham department responded to the new location and found about five spot fires. 

Brenham units extinguished those fires and returned to service, while the Berlin department responded to the 4300 block of Highway 290 West to extinguish that grass fire.

At 7 p.m., BFD members were called to the 200 block of Lounge Road for a transportation incident.  They discovered a single-vehicle accident with fluids leaking.  After checking for injuries, they washed the roadway to clean the fluids.  Once the roadway was clear, firefighters returned to the station.
