BRENHAM FD RESPONDS THURSDAY TO GAS ODOR, TWO FIRE ALARMS

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Thursday.

Around 12:15 p.m., firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department were dispatched to a gas odor at a home in the 2200 block of Creekwood Lane.  Upon arrival, they checked the area for a leak or smell.  After investigation, the fire department was released from the scene.

Just before 1:30 p.m., BFD members responded to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for a fire alarm.  They found that the alarm was caused by burnt food, so they used fans to clear the room and hallway before helping to reset the alarm.

Units went back out to Kruse Village for another fire alarm shortly after 3:30 p.m.  They found an oven having issues and reset the alarm before returning to service.
