BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS WEDNESDAY TO CRASH, FIRE ALARM, GAS ODOR
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Wednesday and one early this (Thursday) morning.
Approaching 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters were dispatched to a crash in the 2400 block of Highway 290 West. They found a two-vehicle crash that was off the roadway and provided traffic control until the scene was cleared.
Shortly after 6:45 p.m., units were called out for a fire alarm at a home in the 1100 block of Davy Street. They found burnt food that caused the alarm to go off. After checking with the homeowner, no action was needed.
A few minutes past 8:15 p.m., the fire department and City of Brenham Gas Department received a report of a gas odor at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, 1206 Old Independence Road. They checked the area for a leak or smell, and firefighters were released after investigation.
Around 12:30 a.m. today, members of the Brenham Fire Department and Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Department went out to a crash with possible entrapment in the 11300 block of FM 50. While Brenham firefighters were enroute, Prairie Hill firefighters cancelled Brenham’s response, due to the patient getting out of the vehicle.
