Around 4:30 p.m., firefighters went out to a reported grass fire in the 7400 block of Chadwick Hogan Road.  Upon arrival, they found a large smoke column behind the reporting party’s address.  After investigation by personnel, they entered a property off Browning Street and contacted a homeowner who was burning brush behind their residence. The homeowner was advised of proper burning procedures and instructed to call dispatch to inform them that they will be burning.

Close to 6:15 p.m., volunteers responded to the area of the 5500 block of Indian Trail Lane for a fire investigation.  The caller reported a large plume of smoke behind their address and that they were unable to see what was on fire.  After investigating the area, it was found that someone was burning a large brush pile in Bluebonnet Hills.  The department provided homeowner education on calling in their controlled burn and cleared the call.

Just past 10 p.m., units were dispatched to assist at a reported structure fire in Waller County.  While they were responding, Waller County called back and informed that the department could cancel its response and return to service.
