BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE PRESENTING ‘INTO THE WOODS’ THIS WEEKEND

An intertwining of several classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales takes the stage this weekend in Brenham High School’s Black Box Theatre.

“Into the Woods” plays tonight (Thursday) through Sunday, connecting the plots of stories like Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood through the quest of a childless baker and his wife to start a family.

Noble Pharaon, Libby Shelton and Laura Beth Bodensteiner, who star as the baker, the baker’s wife and the witch, say audiences can expect a powerful performance that offers a new spin on well-known tales.

The production carries special meaning for the students involved, as many are preparing for what comes after graduation, so the show serves as the culmination of all they have learned and experienced.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow (Friday), 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.  Seating in the Black Box Theatre is limited.
