BRENHAM PLANNING AND ZONING TO DISCUSS SIGNAGE, METAL HOUSING IN WORKSHOP

Brenham’s Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a workshop session Monday morning to continue discussion on the city’s sign ordinance and metal exteriors for housing.

Staff members will meet to talk about proposed changes to the draft sign ordinance.  Assistant Development Services Director Stephanie Doland said the session will mainly be a time for dialogue, and will not contain a formal presentation or proposal.  She said the majority of the meeting will revolve around this discussion.

There will also be a brief discussion regarding the city’s proposed amendment to metal exteriors.  Last month, the Planning and Zoning Commission tabled talks to possibly prohibit large metal buildings as housing in residential area, saying it wished to do additional research.  According to Doland, staff will look to present their findings at the meeting.  No action can be taken.

The workshop will be held Monday morning at 11:30 a.m., in the second-floor conference room at Brenham City Hall.

  1. Planning a planning meeting in the middle of a work day is not very good planning for the majority of the citizens. The working citizens can’t take off of work to attend a meeting in the middle of the day. Must be the way for the city planner to do what they plan to do.when people and builders are at work and cannot be heard. Sounds like the city planning for meeting in the middle of the day was planned that way for a reason.
