CITY OF NAVASOTA’S TO HOLD “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS”

The City of Navasota is getting ready to celebrate “Home for the Holidays” on Saturday, December 9.

“Home for the Holidays” is a free, family event that is open to the public.

It will all begin at 9am with the Navasota Farmers Market, which is located at the Navasota Public Library. The Farmers Market runs until 1pm.

Then, from 1-5pm, it is Christmas in the City. Santa Claus will be at the Navasota City Hall for free photos with the kids.  Other family friendly activities will include a bounce house, vendors, food trucks, Christmas music, free hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. Everyone is encouraged to shop local and enjoy holiday deals from local merchants.

That will be followed by the annual Christmas Parade down Washington Avenue through downtown Navasota at 6pm.

The community tree lighting will take place shortly after the end of the parade.  Attendees are encouraged to walk to the Navasota City Hall for the ceremony, which will include remarks from the Mayor, the City Manager, as well as Christmas Carols from the Navasota High School Choir.

The evening concludes with a free showing of the Christmas movie, “Elf.”
