The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for the annual “Country Christmas” celebration.

The Fayetteville Country Christmas will be held on Saturday, December 9, beginning with the 26th Annual Homes Tour from noon-4pm.

The tour will include five homes: the Gregory Home on Kubena Ridge, the Raymond House on South Mechanic Street, the Hill Home on FM 2503, the Gips Home on Shumacher Road, and the Diamond E Farm on Kasmiersky Road.

Tickets are $20, and can be purchased in advance by going to the chamber’s website, or on the day of the event at the Grand Fayette Hotel.

Meanwhile, children can make Christmas crafts from 2-4pm at ARTS on the Square.

Afterwards, the kids can go to the Old Fire Station and have their pictures taken with Santa Claus from 4-8:30pm.

There is also a Christmas Tree Display contest with over 30 decorated trees that will be at the Old Fire Station as well.

ARTS will host a Holiday Community Show and Reception from 4-6pm.  There will be collection of art from talented local artists.  They are also going to serve appetizers, wassail, and cider.

Santa is going to take a break from photos in order to lead the Lighted Parade at 6pm. Parade participants can start lining up at 5:30pm on North Washington Street between the Grand Fayette Hotel and Orsak’s.

After the parade, ARTS will be taking kids on a hayride through town.  Local residents are encouraged to leave your porch lights on so that they can stop and sing to you.

The evening concludes with a Christmas-themed movie projected on the Old Fire Station beginning at 7pm.
