LANE CLOSURES START MONDAY AS TxDOT INSTALLS SIGNAL AT HIGHWAY 290 – FM 2679 INTERSECTION

  

Drivers can expect lane closures and possible delays starting on Monday on Highway 290 at FM 2679, on the west side of Brenham.

TxDOT crews will have lane closures in both directions throughout the week as they begin installing a new traffic signal at the intersection.  TxDOT says the traffic signal and added turn lanes will help reduce congestion and improve safety for drivers.

Delays are expected while crews are working, so drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, watch for signs and consider alternate routes if possible. 

The $1 million project is contracted to Cornerstone Construction. 

TxDOT also asks drivers to be ready once the new traffic signal becomes operational.  More information will be shared closer to the time the signal is activated.
