The free event, in conjunction with Texas Solar Energy Society and Solar Austin, will be held Saturday at 9 and 11 a.m. at Bluebonnet’s Brenham Service Center and Eco Home, located at 2601 Longwood Drive.

During the event, the Texas Solar Energy Society will host an installer fair.  Guests will learn how solar energy works and how to connect to Bluebonnet’s grid.  They will also be able to visit with homeowners who have solar panels, and tour Bluebonnet’s Eco Home.

There will be free breakfast tacos, coffee and juice, and the chance to win one of three $50 solar-charged power banks, which can charge a smartphone or tablet at the same rate as a wall charger.

The event is part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.  To learn more about Bluebonnet’s Solar Day, visit www.bluebonnet.coop, or go to the events section of Bluebonnet’s Facebook page.
