BRENHAM PLANNING AND ZONING TO HEAR PLAT REQUESTS FOR NEW CENTURY HILLS SUBDIVISION

The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Monday to consider preliminary and final plats for roughly 20 acres of land being looked at for a new subdivision.

Rockies Creek Investments, LLC is seeking to plat 19.9 acres of land located about a mile north of Linda Anderson Park, on the southeast corner of the intersection of Old Independence Road and Ike Lane, in order to create the Century Hills Subdivision.

The property, located within the city’s extra-territorial jurisdiction, would be divided into eight residential lots.

Included in the plat request is a half-acre dedication for public right-of-way along Old Independence Road, a portion of the land at the Old Independence Road-Ike Lane intersection, and the land between Ike Lane and current fence line.

City staff have reviewed the plat requests and are recommending approval.

Also on Monday’s agenda, commissioners will consider a final plat request for Prairie Lea Cemetery, to allow for cemetery expansion. They will also consider a final plat request for the Vintage Farms Townhomes, located on 13.7 acres on Highway 36 North near Dixie Road.  City staff are recommending approval of both requests.

Commissioners will also look to elect a chairman, vice chairman, secretary, and deputy secretary on the Commission for 2020.

The Commission will meet Monday evening at 5:15 p.m., at Brenham City Hall.
