LOCAL PET ADOPTION CENTER RECEIVES $5,000 PETCO LOVE GRANT

  

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center has received a $5,000 grant from Petco Love (formerly the Petco Foundation).

The center applied for the grant last July, shortly after the Center was accepted as a Tier 1 Shelter in the American Pets Alive! Human Animal Support Services (HASS) coalition.

One of the elements of the HASS model is keeping families together by providing pet support services including medical and behavioral support, as well as food and supplies.

Center officials say the funds from this grant will be used to assist pet owners with basic health needs and sterilization of their pets while keeping the pet in their home.

In 2019 BPAC took in approximately 1200 animals. Last year that number was reduced to 612.
