The Lloyd Saunders Memorial Chili Cook-off is happening this Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

The fundraising event will feature chili, margaritas, and bloody mary competitions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, Spam has been selected for the Chef’s Choice cook-off.

Teams can register the day of the event.

Washington County Commissioner Joy Fuchs says they will also have a live auction and dance:

All money raised will go to the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Scholarship, which was founded in 2008.

Washington County Commissioner Joy Fuchs says Saunders was an avid supporter of the youth in Washington County and a very active participant in the Washington County Fair Calf Scramble Program for more than 20 years:

KTEX’s Trail Boss Troy will be there on Saturday, broadcasting live from the Friendly Country Cruiser.
