Bryan police have made a second arrest in the death of a six-year-old girl.

After arresting 40-year-old Jessica Bundren of Bryan in the death of her stepdaughter Tuesday night, police on Friday arrested the girl’s father, 29-year-old Justin Hopper, also of Bryan.

Police found the child dead Tuesday night at Bundren’s home.  According to police, the child had bruises on her face and legs, as well as welts on her torso with small puncture wounds.

After searching the home, police discovered a belt that had a slit on the end with metal rivets, which they say matched the injuries on the girl.

Hopper and Bundren are each charged with two counts of Injury to a Child.  The two remain in the Brazos County Jail, with bond set for each at $250,000.

  1. Please lock these horrible people away for a VERY VERY long time. How two grown adults think treating a child this way is OK is beyond me. My only wish is that they could be forced to endure what they made this pure innocent child endure. Since that is not an option, jail is where they belong.

  2. So sad for that little girl — but I know for sure she is now is Heaven and Jesus has his arms around her.
