BLINN TO INCREASE IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES
Blinn College is planning to expand in-person offerings this summer, and is anticipating a return to regular campus operations, courses and services this fall.
In a message to Blinn faculty, staff and students on Monday, Chancellor Dr. Mary Hensley said the College plans for an increased number of employees and services on all campuses as it transitions to expanded summer activities. Dr. Hensley said supervisors have been asked to work with their vice chancellors to develop staggered, alternating schedules for in-person work.
The College will resume face-to-face courses during the summer I and summer II terms, and also intends to host College and community events on campus and resume offering youth camps and activities.
According to Dr. Hensley, students will be able to choose from five course options in the fall, including traditional in-person courses, blended in-person and online classes, and online formats that do not require students to be on campus.
Blinn will host a virtual commencement ceremony for more than 650 graduates tomorrow (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be streamed on the College’s YouTube channel.
The College plans to hold a grand opening ceremony on Friday, August 27th at 10 a.m. for the science, technology, engineering and innovation building on the Brenham Campus. The 72,000-square-foot facility includes 17,000 square feet of laboratory space and a 3,000 square-foot innovation center featuring a 3D printing lab, soldering space, robotics area, virtual reality space, and high-tech fabrication shop.
