TEN SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT

Nine people pleaded guilty and were sentenced on Thursday in 21st District Court in Washington County by Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.
35-year-old Kenneth Brooks Helmer of Brenham was sentenced to 20 years in prison for Continuous Violence Against the Family and Bail Jumping/Failure to Appear. Helmer was arrested in November by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He will also have to pay a $50 warrant fee.
32-year-old Jeffrey Adam Hall of Somerville was sentenced to four years in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance, as well as one year in the Washington County Jail for Assault Causing Bodily Injury. He was also ordered to pay a $180 lab fee and a $50 warrant fee.
35-year-old Robert Douglas Duncan of Brenham was sentenced to 15 months in state jail for Injury to a Child. He will also have to pay a $50 warrant fee.
25-year-old Brandon Michael Reeves of Navasota was sentenced to 12 months in state jail for Violation of a Protective Order.
28-year-old Brandon Joseph Stagnitta of Houston was sentenced to 8 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
51-year-old Matthew Tilden Liescheski of Bellville was sentenced to 6 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Assault Intentionally or Recklessly Impeding Breath or Circulation to a Family Member. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $100 family violence fee and $50 crime stoppers fee. He will also have to perform 300 hours of community service, spend 180 days in the Washington County Jail as a condition of probation, undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, complete a drug offender education program and batterers intervention program, and maintain no contact with the victim.
26-year-old Christopher Spates of Somerville was sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. He will also have to pay a $500 fine, $50 warrant fee, $50 crime stoppers fee, and complete drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment.
23-year-old Eric Daniel Martinez of Brenham was sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Burglary of a Building. He will also have to pay $3,800 in restitution, stay away from Stop-N-Bye, and perform 200 hours of community service.
27-year-old Mehwesh Amjad Malik of Georgetown was sentenced to 3 years’ deferred adjudication for Attempted Possession of a Controlled Substance. He will also have to pay a $500 fine and a $180 lab fee, perform 150 hours of community service, and complete drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment.
Meanwhile, one person pleaded guilty and was sentenced in court today (Friday) before Judge Carson Campbell.
23-year-old Anthony William Lopez of Brenham was sentenced to 4 years in prison for Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
