KRAUSE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL NAMED COORDINATOR OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Krause Elementary School’s principal is shifting to a districtwide position.

Courtney Mason

Brenham ISD announced Tuesday that Courtney Mason will be moving to the position of Coordinator of Community Engagement.  Mason has served in Brenham ISD for 10 years, all as the principal of Krause Elementary School, and has 18 years of experience in education.

The district said Mason’s new role will include providing programs and services to promote and encourage parents to participate in their child’s education.  Mason will arrange parent meetings and parenting classes, in addition to compiling information and resources to activate parent participation.

Mason will also be responsible for building relationships with community partners and organizations, serving as the district liaison to the Brenham ISD Education Foundation, and participating in outreach events to increase student retention and parent engagement in available programs.

Mason said it has been “an amazing ten years at Krause Elementary”, and that this change allows her to “continue to support education and bridge the gap between our schools and our community.”

The district plans to post the position for Krause Elementary School principal today (Wednesday), and will put together a campus committee to help identify the best person to fill the role.  It hopes to present the position to the board for approval at its June 21st meeting.

  1. This is unbelievable, how many of these non-teaching Central Office positions must we as taxpayers continue to pay for. This comment is not about Mrs. Mason, but this position seems like a bunch of fluff that will have no real impact on students or families. Our money should be spent in the classroom, not on more central office staff. Enough of this wasting of our money. Creating positions like this, wanting to pass $150 million dollar bond issues, these people are complete out of control. Where is our school board at, why are they not putting a stop to this type of thing.

    1. Yep! Another salary that the others are “to important “ to attend to.
