AUSTIN CO. FAIR YOUTH LIVESTOCK AUCTION HITS $1.96 MILLION UNOFFICIALLY
The Austin County Fair’s youth livestock auction had another successful year.
Unofficial totals provided by the Austin County Fair Association show this year’s youth auction sale hit $1,961,160 for 303 lots. Add-ons are still being taken through the end of the month, and the final numbers will be available in mid-November.
2022’s youth auction sale was the record with $2,514,708.
Five records fell in this year’s auction, including three for grand champions and two for reserve champions.

- Grand Champion Swine of Ty Smitley - $4,914, purchased by Sealy Concrete
- Grand Champion Gelding of Cole Whatley - $23,000, purchased by Detmer Cattle Co.
- Grand Champion Lamb of Lane Locke - $10,000, purchased by Accurate Meter & Supply
- Grand Champion Broilers of Lillian Goeke - $5,500, purchased by Sim-Tex, LP
