City of Brenham utility crews are onsite repairing a gas main break that occurred this (Tuesday) morning.

City of Brenham Communications and Public Relations Manager Melinda Gordon says the break happened at Blue Bell Road and Highway 36 North, after a construction crew moving dirt at a new gas station hit a four-inch gas line.  The notice was issued at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The Brenham Fire and Police Departments are on location as crews work to turn off the gas to the break.  The city says there are no immediate threats to the public, and there are no evacuations, traffic delays or detours expected.

The leak was isolated as of 11 a.m.  Gordon said that as of 11:30 a.m., the work was estimated to take approximately 6 hours to complete.
