WASHINGTON CO. FAIR PUBLIC SPEAKING CHAMPIONS; CARNIVAL OPENS TUESDAY
INAUGURAL PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST WINNERS:
- Junior Champion: Lane Damron, Zionsville 4-H, 8th grade at Brenham Junior High School, son of Stephanie and Jeremy Damron
- Senior Champion: Kinleigh Guidry, Zionsville 4-H, sophomore at Brenham High School, daughter of Christa and Jason Guidry

Today (Tuesday) marks the opening of the Heart of America Carnival at the Washington County Expo. A variety of games and rides will be open for fairgoers between 6 – 11 p.m. today through Friday and from 1 – 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Admission to the fairgrounds today is free. Carnival wristbands are $25 today, $35 between Wednesday and Friday, and $40 on Saturday.
Also today, county team roping will be held in the rodeo arena at 7:15 p.m.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) is Show Day at the fair, where students will showcase their livestock projects for judging. The winners of the Little and Junior Mister and Miss contests will be announced starting at 6 p.m. The featured entertainment will be Grupo Zenzio at 8 p.m. and Secretto at 10 p.m.
