ELECTION 2026: WASHINGTON CO. PCT. 2 COMMISSIONER CANDIDATE AMANDA KLEHM
With about a week and a half left until early voting starts for the March 3rd primary election, KWHI is speaking with candidates on the Washington County ballot.
We conclude our preview of the Precinct 2 commissioner’s race with Amanda Klehm, who is going up against Jim Chisolm, William “Bubba” Herrin and Mark Schonefeld for the seat held by Candice Bullock, who is not pursuing another term.
Klehm is the co-owner of Sew Stitches Boutique LLC in Brenham, with past experience as deputy city secretary for the City of Brenham and with internships at the U.S. Capitol and the Texas Forest Service Economic Development Department. She has also been involved in community organizations like Washington County Little League, the Brenham Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy, Brenham Police Wives Association, and as coordinator and co-founder of the Sugar Plum Market.
Klehm says properly serving residents as the county grows will involve supporting infrastructure, public safety and essential services while preserving property rights and protecting the area’s rural character and values. She vows to keep an open mind and believes her professional experience and education prepare her to help address the challenges facing the county.
Klehm says educating the public, better explaining how the county’s decisions are made and how taxpayer dollars are spent, are key to helping the commissioners court truly be a voice for all residents.
KWHI is asking each candidate questions about what they consider to be their key priorities, their plans for working with other county offices and departments, and what sets them apart as a candidate.
Early voting begins on Tuesday, February 17th. Election Day is Tuesday, March 3rd.
