FAITH MISSION, GATHER ‘N GRACE SERVE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING MEALS
Faith Mission and Gather ‘N Grace continued a Thanksgiving tradition with their annual community-wide Thanksgiving meal on Thursday.
Meals were served in-person at the Cannery Kitchen in Brenham and delivered to local seniors and homebound residents.
According to Faith Mission board member and Thanksgiving meal coordinator Dr. Heather Thielemann, close to 700 meals were served throughout the day, including 350 that were delivered by volunteers into the community. Over 150 volunteers participated.
Meals and pies were prepared by Tara and Rick Steele and the team at The Bake Shop at All Things Acres. The Brenham ISD Theatre Department provided snack bags for the community deliveries. Brenham’s First Baptist Church offered use of the gym for meal delivery prep.
Tara Steele says, “Today, Gather ‘N Grace, All Things Acres, and Faith Mission/The Cannery served the community with food, making sure no one went without a holiday lunch – the heart of service was amazing!”
Dr. Thielemann says, “We have been delivering Thanksgiving meals into the community for 15 years, and we want to thank our volunteers for bringing joy to each household on Thanksgiving Day."
